As the journey to become more sustainable for the future of our planet evolves so does PULSAR®’s approach to how they do business with the use of eco friendly fabrics combined with long lasting durable designs. 2022, has seen PULSAR® take a whole new approach with a strong influence to #BEGREENBESEEN in all areas of their business and behaviours, including the launch of their first ever sustainable clothing collection called PULSAR® Life.

The new PULSAR® Life sustainable Polo Shirts, incorporating 45% GRS recycled polyester made from post-consumer waste and 55% BCI cotton are finished in a premium pique knit as well as being their first shirt fully certified to 50x domestic washes, increasing the overall life span of the garment.

DuPont Silvadur

PULSAR® have includeda DuPont Silvadur anti-bacterial treatment into their new polo shirts, using a patented, controlled-release technology. Silvadur delivers a low concentration of silver ions to fabric surfaces to control malador-generating bacteria. This treatment reduces bad odours within the garment, thus helping to illeviate the need to wash the garment when not dirty. This not only extends the life even further but reduces energy, water and detergent usage.

Ultraviolet Protection

All PULSAR® Life Polo Shirts, available in both short and long sleeve designs, as well as men’s and Ladies fit, are manufactured using fabrics with a Sun Protection Factor Rating (SPF) of 40+, offering maximum protection against the dangers of harmful UV rays.

A key bit of advice for when you are working in the sun, published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), is that no matter how warm it gets, to make sure you keep your top on at all times in order to minimise the amount of sun hitting the skin directly – which can increase the risks of people developing skin diseases later in life, such as skin cancer. With this advice in mind we incorporated underarm mesh ventilation in an attempt to keep the wearer cool and comfortable throughout the day, removing any need to take the polo shirt off in its entirety.

Ladies fit

Many women face barriers when entering the construction industry with PPE not being designed or tailored to their sizes being a huge factor. The lack of appropriate PPE can increase hazards in the workplace and can cause serious safety and health risks. It is vitally important to PULSAR® that everybody working on a site feels valued and is protected in the same way as being comfortable. PULSAR® offer a range of tailored sized ladies clothing, including the new Life polo shirts.

Throughout 2022 will see the year that PULSAR® will release 8 new sustainable garments, in both yellow and orange, yellow men’s and ladies fit, strengthening their range by another 32 styles.
