Why Choose CTR
Conventional Toilet Roll (CTR) is the perfect toilet tissue product for front of house locations, with it’s ‘home from home’ appearance and the perception of it being generally the best quality of all the toilet tissue categories on the market.
CTR is the easiest of toilet tissue products to use, as it doesn’t need a dispenser to be fitted. It’s shorter rolls (when compared to Jumbo toilet rolls), mean that this product is great for lower footfall washrooms.

Jargon Buster
CTR – Conventional Toilet Tissue
Conventional toilet tissue is the same style of product that we purchase and use in our own homes.
Ply
The ply of a product is how many individual sheets of paper make up the thickness of the product. The higher the ply, the thicker, more absorbent, and overall better quality the product is.
Within our CTR range we offer both 2 and 3 ply products.

Embossment
Embossing the paper gives it a larger surface area and therefore makes a product more absorbent however, different embossments don’t make a difference. We do offer different types of embossments within our CTR range, flowers, squares and micro embossment, so the style choice is yours!

Laminated
‘Laminated plies’ means that the paper plies are glued together, making the paper significantly stronger and giving the rolls a higher bulk. Only the premium products within our CTR range are laminated.

Sustainability
The raw material
All Pristine® paper products have a sustainable story and the CTR range is no different. The whole range is FSC® certified, meaning that the paper has been responsibly sourced despite being pure pulp or recycled tissue. That being said, if you are looking for that extra environmental edge, there are products within the range made from a 100% recycled base sheet, including Pristine Eco Luxury & Pristine Soft Eco.

The Packaging
The toilet rolls are packed in convenient 4 packs, making them easy to store and the wrap is made from 30% PCR (post-consumer resin / recycled material), the wrap is fully recyclable at larger recycling centres after use.
The Carbon Footprint
The complete Pristine Conventional Toilet Tissue range is made here in UK, meaning the rolls have low product miles and therefore a low carbon footprint. There are many CTR products that claim to be ‘sustainable’ on the market such as bamboo toilet rolls. However, the raw material is imported from China – the only place bamboo is commercially farmed – meaning, it has high product miles and therefore increasing the carbon footprint exponentially.
