A statement by PULSAR®

Over the past 2 years, we have focused our knowledge on lessening our negative impact on the environment. Although we have already made some positive steps towards being a greener business, we are still at the beginning of our journey. As climate change impacts the ever-changing world around us, we want to be part of the solution, not the problem. Our mission is to make all areas within the business as sustainable as possible, understanding that the only future is a sustainable future.

Focusing on the safety of the wearer as well as the environment, we have actioned a road map towards our ambitious goals, making sure they align with as many SDGs as possible. At PULSAR®, our charge to #begreenbeseen is just one way that we are taking initiative to reduce our carbon footprint. We are committed to evolving by working closely with our partners at Positive Planet on carbon capture projects. We are always looking for opportunities to learn and collaborate with industry leaders like Textiles 2030 to bring positive change and drive sustainable innovation.

We are also delighted to announce that we successfully passed our Global Recycled Standard audit. The Global Recycled Standard sets the criteria for third-party certification of recycled materials. GRS’s objectives are to reduce impact of production on the environment, to provide assurance that their materials are recycled and processed more sustainably, and to address issues of quality in recycled materials. PULSAR® is proud to now only work with GRS approved fibres in all future collections. This ensures that we are contributing towards a circular economy and more responsibly sourcing and producing products from fibre to finish.

This year sees the launch of our first environmentally responsible collection called PULSAR® Life. We have taken a circular approach from the beginning, with an emphasis on R&D to select the industry’s most responsible solutions. By selecting sustainable fibres like recycled polyester (RPET), BCI (better cotton initiative) certified materials, and GRS (global recycled standard) certified materials, we have ensured traceability amongst our range.

PULSAR® LIFE

This collection includes 2 mid-layer styles and 3 high performance waterproof styles. These waterproof styles utilize 2 & 3 layer laminate  GRS recycledpolyester (RPET) fabric technology in their coat, over-trouser and shell jacket styles, featuring a first-in-class asymmetric zip design. The new geometric patterned zips and segmented reflective tape give the collection a more fashionable look and feel. This collection is available in hi-viz yellow or orange for both men and women.

During the development of this range, we undertook wearer trials to test the performance of the materials and construction to ensure that the final product is durable and long lasting.
