In February 2023, Rock Fall became the first safety footwear brand to have products officially approved by The Vegan Society.
Since then, the brand has evolved rapidly-from exploring environmentally responsible processes and sustainably sourced or recycled materials, to fully embracing ‘design-to-green’ principles across its product range.
By integrating eco-conscious materials and sustainable design strategies from the outset, Rock Fall is taking meaningful steps to reduce the environmental impact of safety footwear at its source.
Greenham are excited to highlight the latest stylish, practical safety footwear by Rock Fall.
To help you select the best safety footwear for your teams, we have put together a set of brief notes on the each of the styles, along with sustainable materials used, styles, and sizes that are available at Greenham.

Rock Fall’s sustainable eco-friendly materials list:
TENCEL™
TENCEL™ is a standout eco-conscious fabric made from lyocell fibres, which originate from sustainably sourced wood pulp. This material is known for its exceptional durability, breathability, and performance, making it an environmentally responsible choice for high-quality footwear.
BLOOM®
BLOOM® algae-based materials are derived from algae harvested in polluted waterways. The process not only helps restore natural habitats and improve biodiversity but also cleans excess algae from affected ecosystems, contributing to healthier aquatic environments.
Solum – Bio-Tread™
Solum’s Bio-Tread™ technology utilises bio-based materials made from the same nutrients that provide strength and resilience to trees and plants. As the material breaks down naturally, it releases nutrients back into the soil, supporting the ecosystem below. This innovation is recognised by the USDA BioPreferred® Program.
Recycled Leather
Each year, approximately 2 billion square meters of leather are produced, with up to 60% becoming waste-often sent to landfill. Generation Phoenix (www.genphoenix.com) intercepts this waste stream, transforming over 11,000 tons of discarded leather into durable, low-carbon, high-performance materials since 2007.
Recycled Polyester (rPET)
Recycled polyester, also known as rPET, is produced from used plastic bottles. This process diverts plastic waste from landfills and incinerators, significantly reducing environmental pollutants while giving the plastic a second life in durable textiles.
Recycled Post-Consumer Polyester
This material comes from plastic waste collected from the environment- mainly oceans and landfills. Common sources include discarded bottles, food containers, fishing nets, and other consumer packaging. The process turns this post-consumer waste into new, valuable material inputs.
Sugarcane EVA
Sugarcane EVA is made by blending bioethanol derived from sugarcane-a renewable plant-with traditional EVA. Unlike fossil fuel-based EVA, sugarcane is a sustainable resource that helps reduce carbon impact while maintaining performance.
Natural Rubber
Unlike polyurethane (PU) foams that rely on finite fossil resources, natural rubber is harvested from renewable plant sources such as latex. This bio-based alternative is also certified by the USDA BioPreferred® Program.
Vegan Society Approved
All materials used in this product line have been reviewed and certified by The Vegan Society, ensuring no animal-derived components are included and supporting cruelty-free, ethical manufacturing.
